As the title of this post would suggest: this is indeed the beginning of a blog.
I love to write. And not just songs. In fact, one of my favourite daily non-negotiables is my morning pages. Three long pages of free-writing. Stream of consciousness.
That means no judging, no stewing over what I'm going to write, no specific purpose or goal for perfection - just pure expression.
It's a chance for me to express myself and get whatever thoughts are stirring around in my head onto paper.
A chance for me to experience writing as I the mere concept of thinking thoughts...effortlessly, naturally, easy.
Since adopting this practice a couple of years ago, I have noticed a huge change in my songwriting practice. It doesn't feel like such an impossible task anymore.
And beyond that, I have discovered a deep passion for writing in general. Maybe it's more than that even. A deep passion for expression is more like it.
So I decided to start a blog.
A chance for me to keep fostering this deep love I have for writing.
And most importantly, a chance to share it with you.
There's no limits to what I write about. No real plan or agenda.
Just consider this to be an artist's diary. An insight into the inner workings of my colourful, curious, weird and wonderful mind.
